Hoplandrothrips (лат.) — род трипсов из семейства Phlaeothripidae (Thysanoptera). Полиморфная группа, питающихся грибами видов. Включает более 100 видов. Живут в основном на мёртвых ветвях, иногда образуя крупные колонии, которые демонстрируют половой диморфизм, а также мужской полиморфизм[1].
Распространение
Встречаются всесветно[1].
Описание
Мелкие насекомые (длина около 1—2 мм) с четырьмя бахромчатыми крыльями и немного сплющенным телом. Ротовой аппарат колюще-сосущего типа. Самцы полиморфные, отличаются размерами. Голова обычно длиннее своей ширины, зауженная позади глаз, сетчатая сверху. Постокулярные щетинки обычно хорошо развиты, широко расставлены. Усики 8-члениковые, III-й сегмент с 3 (или 2-4) сенсориями, IV с 4; пронотум обычно с 5 парами крупных щетинок[1].
Некоторые виды известны как вредители дерева кофе в Восточной Африке[2].
Листья кофейного дерева, повреждённые Hoplandrothrips.
Классификация
Включает более 100 видов из подсемейства Phlaeothripinae[1][3]. Род был впервые описан в 1912 году в качестве подрода в составе рода Phloeothrips[4][5].
