Тёмно-зелёным выделены штаты, у которых рептилии являются официальными символами

Двадцать шесть штатов США выбрали рептилий своими официальными символами. Первой стала Оклахома, избравшей в 1969 году своим символом ошейниковую пустынную игуану. Рептилия получает статус символа только после её избрания законодательным органом штата. Девятнадцать из двадцати шести рептилий являются символами южных штатов. Самым распространённым животным стала черепаха.
